Above you will see not only my favorite watering hole on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, you also get a glimpse of two relatives of my, geared up to go see the Heels play Son of Clem (i.e. Clemson).  It was a beautiful Fall day, but man cannot live by football alone, so first, we went to the Carolina Coffee Shop, the longest continuously operating restaurant in Chapel Hill, where a great brunch can be had.

Here’s the inside of the restaurant where many hours were spent by me and my friends, drinking beverages, eating, solving major world problems (like how many times would Carolina beat Duke in the coming years), and yes, studying for exams. Did I mention the memorabilia on the walls?

Part of the pregame fun is the band and cheer leaders playing their way from Franklin Street to the main quad in front of the old library named after my great uncle Louis Round Wilson, and then on to the stadium.

And of course once we had dispatched Clemson, it was time to go out and celebrate, of course at our favorite barbecue restaurant— Bullocks…..

Its hard to beat all those hush puppies and cole slaw and hickory smoked pork, and did I mention sweet tea, and then banana pudding for dessert.  A good time was had by all 🙂   Then it was back to Christy’s house to sleep it off….
