I have just returned from five weeks of filming and traveling in Greece, Turkey, and Israel in preparation for making six DVDs about Jesus, Paul, and the Earliest Christians.  What I will be sharing with you in a series of posts are some of the still shots and insights gained from this trip. So join me on a journey for the rest of the summer.

Here you see the temple of Sounion.  It’s setting is spectacular, right on a bluff overlooking the Aegean.  Paul will have passed this way when he sailed from Corinth back to Ephesus on part of his second missionary journey.

Here is a view of a sailing boat from Sounion much like the size of most of the boats Paul will have sailed in.  I think we find it difficult to comprehend the kind of distances Paul covered to spread the Gospel, and by primitive means of transportation, mostly on foot.

What was it that made Paul convinced he could evangelize the known world focusing on Gentiles who already had many gods, many religions and some of them of great antiquity?  These are some of the questions we will explore in these posts.
