Beyond Gorgeous

Beyond Gorgeous

Motive Matters

Delight thyself also in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.  Psalm 37:4

The skinny woman on the commercial zips up her size two pants and looks in the mirror with pride.  Then we see her strutting through her day. Men look at her lustfully and women look at her with envy. She wins the contract at work and is obviously a confident, powerful person.

Why do you think the company  chose that theme for their advertising?  Maybe because it is a common goal.  We want to be admired, respected, desirable.  But are those the right motives? Sorry folks, but if we are trying to be gorgeous to have control over others, we are doomed to failure.

If you want to lose weight to have better health and serve Him better, because you love Him and delight in Him, that’s another story.  He promises to give you the desires of your heart.  If your motives are right, you can trust Him to get you where you want to be — and that better place is beyond gorgeous!

Eating to live and living for Christ,

It’s certainly true that our environment can make it harder for us. The good news is that God is bigger than the destructive forces around us. Thanks so much for commenting!

Your article is quite nourishing in a sense of spiritual appeal! Yes, I agree if we can have a open and clear mind, everything in life might be possible and achievable. But on the same token not everyone is blessed to find a healthy environments around them of their choice. Sometime no matter how positive attitudes you like to have for yourself, could be kicked away by someone’s vicious attacks and attitudes, which is very hard to ignore. Even then, as human being we have to try our best to create things better trusting in God to find the better answer.

Recipe Day -- Good-For-You Chocolate Cake
I looked at the recipe in disbelief.  NINE eggs? Surely that was a misprint.  Only 3/4 cup flour in a cake?  Not likely.  As I studied about coconut flour, though, I saw that, yes, it does take that many eggs to make a successful cake with this healthy type of flour, and it takes a much smaller

How Do You Know When to Stop Eating?
“We asked 150 Parisians how they knew they were through with dinner,” food psychologist Brian Wansink, PhD, said.  “They said, ‘When we’re full.’  When we asked 150 Chicagoans that they said, ‘When the plate is empty.’” * No wonder 2/3 of American adults are overweight and hal

No More "If Onlys"
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.- Carl Bard If only -- If only.  How the “if onlies” plague us! “If I had only kept up that healthy eating and exercise plan I started five years ago I would look terrific now.”
