Want something besides your usual oatmeal for breakfast? Here is an easy recipe (my favorite kind!) that is packed with protein and adds the benefit of our healthy food of the week, strawberries. Of course, it is also low glycemic.
Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie
- 1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal (old fashioned, not instant)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk or cream
- seven or eight strawberries or so — frozen if you want a more milkshake-like smoothie.
Grind the oatmeal in a blender until it is all powder. Add other ingredients and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
