I’ve listed the top five sweetener picks and also the five worst.  What about the rest? They fall somewhere in the middle.  Here is a summary of the others.

Truvia/ Pure Via. This form of Stevia is more processed and has more additives, but is still calorie free with a zero number. If regular Stevia were not available, I would pick up this one.

Whey Low.  It looks good, has 4 calories per teaspoon and a glycemic index number they say is 60% to 70% lower than sugar.  It missed ranking higher because, in my opinion, the jury is still out.  I’m not sure how something made of “bad stuff” can be good for you.

Molasses.  This all natural sweetener is rich in vitamins and minerals. It has the same number of calories as sugar – 16 per teaspoon – but has a lower glycemic index of 55.  This one would rank higher, but personally I have a problem with the taste.

And coming up next – a complete list with my rankings.

Eating to live and living for Christ,
