“The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs…one step at a time.” ~Joe Girard

Wouldn’t we love to take the elevator to our goals?  That’s what all the diet pills and magic potions promise.  Just push the button and presto change-o, you have the slim, svelte body you always wanted.

Sorry, but there is no elevator.  To get a slim healthy body which will take you where you want to go without pain and without complaint, you have to climb a step at a time.

Since the elevator is out of order, what steps will take this week to reach your goal?  Will you put on your pedometer and challenge yourself to beat last week’s total by 200 steps every day this week?  Will you pass up the sugar and high glycemic foods?  Drink water instead of soda?  Eat more raw vegetables?  Stop one bad food habit?

Write down your goals for this week.  Don’t set your goal in terms of pounds lost.  Instead make your goal an action you can do every day.  Every time you do what you promised to do, you will feel better about yourself.

And the weight loss will happen too — a pound at a time.

Eating to live and living for Christ,

Susan Jordan Brown
