Where Are You Going?

Ready, set — go!  Well, we’re almost ready to go.  On our daily walk, that is.  We talked in yesterday’s blog about deciding when to walk.  If you just plan to do it “sometime” it most likely won’t happen.  You have to plan a time and prepare for it.

And you need to figure out where you are going to walk.  You might start walking around your neighborhood, if you are blessed to live in one that is safe.   If you live near a park, that’s a good option, too.  However, here in Oklahoma it’s summertime and the temperature hit 105 yesterday afternoon.  If you live in a place with our type of weather, you might want to find an indoor track or walk at the mall.

What about treadmills?  I loved mine,  but had to give it up because there is no room for it in the travel trailer where I live.  I used mine daily and enjoyed it.  If you will use it, a treadmill might be a worthwhile investment.  It’s not hard to find them inexpensively at garage sales or on Craig’s List. If you have a history of using your exercise equipment as an expensive clothes tree, though, better plan on saving your money and walking somewhere else.

Again, you are unique.  Find out what is best for your personality and lifestyle.  Make it as easy on yourself and as pleasant as possible.  The easier it is, the more likely that daily exercise will become a part of your life.

Eating to live and living for Christ,
Susan Jordan Brown
