From 9 a.m. today and for the next 24 hours, Jewish Funds for Justice is sending one “Tweet” a minute to Glenn Beck’s personal Twitter account. The “Haik U” messages (like haiku poems) are protesting the conservative broadcaster’s comments about religion and social justice. On Faith has more on this campaign.

Two samples:

And Jesus said to
All his hungry disciples
Hands off my fish, chumps.

It is so quiet
Except of course for Glenn Beck
He’s never quiet.

Many Christians had also objected to Beck’s speech last month, warning his fans to run far from churches that preach economic or social justice, which he considers codes for Communism and Nazism. (I wonder if he realizes that these are opposing philosophies? Thanks, non-Texas textbooks from my high school years!)
