memory

I was watching a workshop put on by the famous dance company, Alvin Ailey, here in New York.  The piece, co-directed by a good friend of mine, was breathtaking.  What really amazed me was that the Ailey adviser, a beautiful older woman in her 50’s was still agile and could dance just as good as the younger dancers.  I asked my friend who is a dancer why was the lady able to move as if she was a young woman? She replied simply “muscle memory”.

It got me to thinking about how not only do our muscles hold memories, our bodies as a whole hold memory.  Think about for a second the last time you felt joy.  You should be able to feel the whole experience throughout your being. If you ponder you will see how powerful this is!  With this knowledge we have the power to try to create the most exciting experiences imaginable!

We often allow the experience of depression to linger for way too long. Thus, we walk around in an unhappy state.  But the good news is we now should have an intentional focus on living the most abundant life possible.  We have to learn to hold on to goodness just as much as we hold on to misfortune and down times.  It’s only then that we begin to treat ourselves properly.  Yes, we are human and fall short, but truly we are to enjoy this human experience.  Today begin to treasure the good times deep within you.  You will begin to see the richness of life.

Remember we have the ability to not only change our world, but the world as a whole….BE GREAT!!

Until Next Time,

Pervis
