Understanding God More in His Presence

posted by cmartin

Emily uses art to glorify God and she feels His presence most when working in the ceramics studio.

“Just like God made us out of clay, I make my own creations out of clay. I connect with God in the studio, knowing this is how he has control over our lives. Though I have control over the clay, it sometimes decides to do things on its own, however when it works with me and shapes to the plan I have for it, it becomes something beautiful. The ceramic studio is my resting place where God speaks to me and I can simply dwell with Him.” – Emily

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. –  Isaish 64:8

I’m so glad to hear from all of you and am so excited at how God is using me! I love to hear about your journeys and the unique gifts that you have. It was life-changing when God revealed to me, part of his plan in my gift of photography. Everything that we enjoy can be worship to God.

Miss Collins, the place that I feel most connected to God is the ocean. I feel God all around me when I’m there. I think that the ocean is like God in many ways as well. It is so big and so powerful, yet soothing and peaceful. In my next post, I will describe this in more detail.

Thank you so much for all of your support! I pray that God’s grace would continue to fill you!

Love the posts…my time painting is when I seem to be able to draw so close to the Lord..He created all the wildlife I paint..It is amazing at the details and beauty that the Lord created. I sometimes start a painting of bird or animal and it makes me reflect on God and all that He is..Most of the time He finishes what I start..Have a great day in the Lord…

This is great. God Bless you and your Art. I find God in my paintings. I like to say I paint the beginning of my paintings and God finishes them. You can see them, and read about them, at erikwhite.com.

    God Bless,

True love is the burden that will carry us back home
I wanted to share one of my favorite songs, which has been very powerful in my life.  Ulysses by Josh Garrels.  For the times when we feel lost, overwhelmed, or just unsure of our next move, we always know the sun will rise in the morning and the true love of God will always carry us on.  To me,

City on a hilltop
Be confident in who who were made to be and don't hide the light you've been given!  "You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.  Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in

Are you an introvert?
How do you process?  This is the biggest difference between introverts and extroverts.  Do you process things internally or verbally?  Yes, we all do a little of both but most people usually lean to one of the two sides. I know that I am more of an introvert and it's just recently th

"For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters.  But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature.  Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." - Galatians 5:13 (NLT) I love the book of Galatians.  I am reading through it again right now for the 3rd

Seeking Freedom
If I asked you if you'd rather be free or bound up, what would you say?  If you had the choice to be completely yourself, free from persecution in any way OR tied down and burdened under a law, what would be your answer?  This seems pretty obvious, right?  So why is this decision so hard for us t
