Conservative “pro-life” Christians, especially Texans, now have an interesting
moral challenge.  Cameron Todd, an
innocent man, was executed in Texas.
The facts of his innocence are overwhelming in this case.  For a start, see Huffingtonpost
as well as Barry Scheck’s report, also in Huffingtonpost. The full story is in the New Yorker.

Many hard core “pro-life” people oppose abortions even when the health of the
mother is involved, or even if she has been raped.  Will they now oppose the death penalty because sometimes
innocent people are executed?  IF the zygote is a human being, the logic of the issues seems identical.

Might I venture a guess?

In almost every case the answer will be “no” because they are not really pro-life, they are anti-choice.  They do not really care about life.  I am limiting my remarks to the hard core, the bitter enders, the no-compromise self-righteous holier-than-thou loud mouths who have done so much to poison our society.  RandalI Terry, head of Operation Rescue, is a fitting symbol for them all.

I would genuinely love to be proven wrong.

UPDATE

I have been corrected – Thank you Tom – Terry is no longer the head of Operation Rescue – he is its founder.
