Lindsey Beyerstein over at Majikthise
provides more information about
the utter hypocrisy and genuine nastiness of the triumph of “pro-life” forces in Nicaragua in
outlawing abortion for any reason whatsoever.

. . .  the law makes it a crime to save the life of the mother using
treatments that are contraindicated during pregnancy, like chemotherapy,
anti-malarials, or drugs for HIV/AIDS. That proviso distills the woman-hating
core of the anti-choice agenda. Proof positive that some people consider women
as nothing more than incubators.

Beyerstein writes that according to Amnesty International

women are punished for miscarriages, even
spontaneous ones, because doctors can’t always tell the difference between a
natural and an induced termination.

Amnesty reported

Amnesty International delegates met with young girls who, having been
subjected to sexual violence at the hands of close family members or
friends, were compelled to carry the resulting pregnancies to term
-giving birth in many instances to their own brothers or sisters
-because they were denied access to alternatives.  It is deeply
troubling that there was a recorded rise in pregnant teenagers
committing suicide by consuming poison in 2008.

Obstetricians, gynaecologists and family doctors in Nicaragua told
Amnesty International that under this Penal Code they can no longer
legally provide effective medical treatment for life threatening
diseases in pregnant women and girls because of the potential risk to
the foetus.

These sickos have perverted one of the most sacred human relationships, that of a mother to her child.  American women can look forward to similar
treatment if these Sauronic folks ever triumph here.  Since that’s unlikely, thank the Gods, over here they are forced to settle for simple murder.
