Actually the most effective ways to avoid holiday stress is to change your thinking and the way you feel about life. The best way I have ever found to do that is by committing random acts of kindness.

I think gratitude is a wonderful spiritual practice and dedicating a whole day to gratitude is awesome. I challenge you this week to commit at least two random acts of kindness.
The divine inner child

When I first moved to Hawaii I held classes on healing the inner child. Interestingly enough 20 years later when I was asked to speak at a The Center for Spiritual Living in Waikoloa I decided to speak about the divine inner child. Funny how things come full circle.
Acts of compassion: Amma the hugging saint

Recently I was introduced to Amma the hugging saint. I was deeply moved by the love she shows. She will spend up to 22 hours a day hugging and blessing people, an amazing act in and of itself.
