I like the show and was sad to see this would be its final season. If you’ve never watched this TNT show it is about a wild child and hard drinking cop named Grace and a gruff, lovable angel named Earl sent to save her. He is last chance angel and has certainly given Grace ample opportunity and reasons to turn her life around.

I love the idea of an angel showing up and offering her a second chance, many times. One of my favorite episodes is when Earl whisks Grace off to the Grand Canyon and they stand together on top of one of the tall spires. Her friend, Greta who is a crime lab tech and a devote Catholic tests the soil on Grace’s shoes and confirms it is from that area. Greta is more excited about Grace’s angel than she is.

Imagine having an angel come to you in a time of great need, unfurling his huge wings and offering to help. How would that affect your life? Angels do that all the time it is just that we generally can’t see them and their help comes in the form of love, hope, gentle guidance and grace. It is up to us to make the changes in our lives and to have the willingness to open our hearts to divine grace and love.

No matter what the question or the problem love is always the answer. Unfortunately as humans we seem to have our default setting on judgment instead of love.

Just for today imagine yourself enfolded in the wings of an angel as you move through your day and consistently choose love.

With love and aloha,
Susan
