Aloha,

Since today is Veteran’s Day I decided to skip Wordless Wednesday and share some angels, thoughts and prayers instead.

As I watched the news tonight and saw the images of the Memorial at Fort Hood my heart went out to all those people affected by the violence. You expect deaths in a war zone but not at home making the loss seem even more tragic.

On this Veteran’s Day may we each take a moment of silence and pray for peace while honoring those who risk their lives in the name of freedom.

So first I offer this prayer:

May the loving wings of the angels enfold the hearts of all those that have been affected by the wars and violence in any form. May their love ease the emotional pain of loss and fill everyone’s heart with love, acceptance and the ability to forgive. May the gentle presence of the angels light the way and enlighten our minds and hearts. May each person in harms way be aware of the angles surrounding them and be protected  by their loving presence.

May we always be aware of the ever-present angels and follow their loving guidance. May each of us learn to be of service and make this world a better place because we have passed this way. May we live in love and see the sanctity in all of life.

Namaste

While doing some research on the internet I found some wonderful angel sites for soldiers. Here are just a few.

Soldiers Angels has dozens of ways you can be an angel for a soldier

Adopt a Soldier Soldiers get letters and care packages.

Blankets for veterans This winter, thousands of veterans will spend time in a VA hospital or facility, away from the warmth of home, family and friends.

Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet, an ALL volunteer 501c3 nonprofit public charity formed in January 2005 after learning that military service members across the country had pets that needed a caring, loving, and safe home to care for them during the pet owner’s deployment to fight the global war on terrorism (combat or peace keeping missions), but had been unable to find someone to care for them.  This left the military pet owners with only one option, which was to relinquish their beloved pets and pet ownership rights to a humane society, animal shelter, or animal rescue group never to see their pets again, know if they were placed in a new home, or ended up being euthanized.
