Aloha,

Yesterday I challenged you to do several random acts of kindness and then today I received a message about an organization called Charter for Compassion.

This is their mission:

A call to bring the world together…

The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honor the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.

But how can this affect your life if you are unemployed, underemployed, having health challenges or just simply afraid? Read on…..

I often get e mails from people who are having difficulty in their lives and want to know what angel to turn to or what they can do. I recently reconnected with an old friend on Facebook and he was saying he might have to move because he can’t find a job. When we are facing some sort of a crisis in our lives we spend the majority of our time thinking about it, worrying about it and talking to our friends about it. Focusing on the problem we certainly guarantee we will create more of the same events and the very thing we are worried about.

Even when we work with angels or pray if we do that from a place of fear we aren’t really open to the abundance of love and guidance that always surrounds us. One time when I had absolutely no money my inner guidance told me to go for a walk, in the middle of a snow storm. It made no sense but during the walk, at the height of the storm I found a wad of cash sitting in the snow. There was no one around to ask if they had lost it so I gave thanks and had enough money for my bills that month.

Random act of kindness, being compassionate and of service are wonderful ways to get out of ourselves and out of the universes way. If you don’t have a job take whatever actions seem appropriate that day to find a job and then volunteer somewhere or help a neighbor. There are so many people that need help and when we are lovingly helping magic and miracles occur.

When Karen Armstrong won the TED prize last year, she asked the group to help
her create and launch a Charter for Compassion, which would speak to people of
all faiths (and no faith) and bring “compassionate action to
the center of religious, moral and political life”
After input and support from faith leaders (including the Dalai Lama) and lay people, the charter launched on Friday.

When I last checked there were over 200 acts of compassion listed. If you don’t know what you can do read what others have done. The more you give with an open heart, with no expectation of getting a reward, the more you will receive. Give, love and share. We can change the world one act of kindness at a time.

Here is a post I wrote about paying it forward that I refer to in one of my responses in the comment section.

With love and aloha,
Susan
