Aloha,

When I opened my Word program to write this blog post, this quote was already on the page.

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

I thought it was rather appropriate because I was going to write about how believing in miracles make them much more likely to occur in our lives. I guess I could choose to view the quote’s appearance as a miracle or an odd quirk of my computer.

What exactly is a miracle? By definition, a miracle is an extraordinary event often attributed to divine intervention. The word comes from a Latin word that means “to wonder at.” What one person sees as a miracle may just be an ordinary event to someone else.

Sedona, home and lithuania 522.jpgRecently, one of my readers said she saw feathers as signs from the angels. Since I have been in Lithuania, I have been bike riding almost daily along a wonderful bike path that winds along the water’s edge. I have seen lots of feathers, and each time I have smiled and thanked the angels for showing me their love. Are the feathers really a sign from the angels? Maybe they are and maybe they aren’t, but since I read that reader’s post, I think of angels whenever I see a feather.

Miracles are a lot like that. The more open we are to their existence, the more often we experience them. Years ago, Wayne Dyer wrote a book with the title, “You’ll See it When You Believe It.” I think the title really says it all. When you open your heart and your mind to miracles or angels, you will see their loving presence in your life. As long as you don’t believe in them, you’ll seldom, if ever, see them.

The Course in Miracles opens with the line, “There is no order of difficulty in miracles. …They are all the same. All expressions of love…”

When I look back over my life, I see so many miracles. When I was doing research for my book on angels, I was fascinated with the saints and their ability to perform miracles. My thoughts about their lives changed immensely as I realized it was their connection to their divinity, not their suffering, that brought them peace. I also realized that we all have the same abilities when we tap into the source of everything, that unconditionally loving force of creation.

Do you believe in miracles? Have you experienced one in your own life? I’d love to read about your thoughts and experiences with miracles.

With love and aloha,
Susan
