From a loyal subscriber:
“This is a letter in the archives at the WWII Museum… from Mr. Isacks to his sons during the war.  He explains why he is gone, why people fight wars, and remains a stern father to his boys through a letter.  What an amazing generation.

This is a must-read before Christmas!”

Unfortunately we received the submission too late to publish for Christmas, but better late than never.  Whatever date you read this letter, it is still relevant and exemplifies the sacrifices that our the men, women and their families make when defending our freedom.

LETTER FROM MARINE 1ST LT. LEONARD ISACKS

My dear little boys:

I am writing to you today, just a week before Christmas eve, in the hope that you will get this little note at Christmas time.

Loyal Subscribers!  We need some help.  The purpose of our “Heart” section is to publish stories of the experiences, contributions and sacrifices of our military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard) and public service personnel (police officers, fire fighters, EMS, merchant marines and others in the public sector) as well as stories of their families.  Please search your memory and computer for a few and send them to Bill (CPT Otis) O’Quin at boquin@ix.netcom.com for possible publication.  Thanks!
