Many people are alive yet never truly live.
How do we truly live? What makes us come alive, moving beyond mere existence to significance?

According to Romans 6, it’s God. Verses 11-14 reveal:

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Through Jesus, we are forgiven of every wrong and sin we have ever done. We are no longer controlled by sin, though we still struggle with temptation. With our new life, we are called to be “alive to God.” Paul explains this means to stay pure and to offer our lives in service to God because of his grace to us.

Struggling today? Feeling empty? Remember what Jesus has done, what he has called us to be, and the life he has in store for us now and for eternity.

Be alive to God.
