Today, CNN reported the plight of 700 children in Cobb County, Georgia who receive free sack lunches from Christians at MUST Ministries. With 21 million American children who receive free or reduced-cost lunches at public schools, it’s easy to forget these same children often lack basic food during the summer months. MUST is working to alleviate the need in their area, modeling a practice individuals and communities of people across our nation could use as a model where they live.

When I tell people I write about “Activist Faith,” they sometimes ask for an example of the type of efforts I highlight. The work of MUST is a perfect example. Based on their faith, hope, and love, these local heroes serve those in need, unconditionally, creating a better world in the process.
