worshipindex.jpgToday marks the first Sunday of 2011. For many, it is a day to sleep in and recover from the festivities of the New Year. For millions of others, however, Sunday is more than a day of rest; Sunday is a day of worship.

Christians worship on Sundays to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. He did not come back as a zombie or ghost, but as in a physical body that bore the scars of his crucifixion. Those who saw him worshiped him. Even doubting Thomas responded, “My Lord and My God!”

Let me encourage those who claim the name “Christian” to begin your new year on the right note. Worship Christ! Those of us who know him will worship him for eternity. Let our worship begin today!
