The son of “Diff’rent Strokes” actress Dana Plato has committed suicide.
The 25-year-old died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound late last week, almost 11 years after his mother took her own life by overdosing on prescription pills. His family members believe he was experimenting with drugs and alcohol around the time of his death.

In March I sat down with Todd Bridges, Plato’s friend and co-star on “Diff’rent Strokes,” to talk about his former drug addiction and how he tried to get Plato to fight her own drug problem.
So I reached out to him yesterday for comment on the news of Lambert’s death.
“I was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic suicide of Dana Plato’s son, Tyler Lambert, nearly 11 years to the day that his mother died,” said Bridges. “Dana was an important part of my life and a dear friend, and I was also close with her son throughout his life. I can only hope that Dana and Tyler have been reunited and are both now at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with their surviving family members during this difficult time.”
