Miss California, Carrie Prejean, may have lost the Miss USA title for explaining her opposition to same-sex marriage, but it looks like she’s gained a new gig as Christian idol. After appearing on Fox News, NBC’s “Today” and other talk shows to defend her stance, saying she would “rather be Biblically correct than “politically correct,” Prejean was invited to to appear at the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards–the Christian world’s Grammys–on Thursday night. The 21-year-old, who says she’s a longtime fan of Christian music, introduced a performance by the band MercyMe.
