Well, it's also probably got a lot to do with Arabic being a much-more organic-looking language than, say, yer Latin alphabet.

(really pretty, by the way.)

Then again, I think just fish can be pretty interesting to look at, just normally, if you know what I mean. :)

The whole 'name occurring in nature' thing seems more popular among Muslims of the mystic persuasion. I'd imagine it was even more popular before the Islamic reformation in Arabia during the 18th century CE.

I've noticed a trend with the Left over the years. They take the opposite stance as the government on every issue as part of their anti-Bush campaign.

That's cause he's a pure ideologue who pretty much always does the wrong thing based on it.

During the Clinton administration, you would not have found us so apparently-'polarized' that way.

I've just always thought someone's position on an issue should be based on facts, rationality and practicality.

That doesn't mean it *is* if you like the guy, for whatever reason.

If the Left is upset because jobs are outsourced overseas for the reason of hiring cheap laber workers than what is companies hiring illegal immigrants but another form of outsourcing to hire cheap laber workers.

My position, exactly. If we're so worried about jobs, why punish people who are just trying to get by, when the corporations are just gonna ship the jobs out anyway?

It won't *help.* Not until we stop letting the corporations run roughshod over the workers. And the Earth, and the budget, and the future, and our rights.

Stop patting yourselves on the back because you think you're being so kind and good to illegal immigrants by allowing them to have the cheap labor jobs with no benefits that you wouldnt dream of working. If you cared so much you'd be fighting instead to have these people paid a fair wage and getting job benefits.
It's really hard to take the Left seriously when their basis for an issue is ..we hate Bush.

Reading the amount of poisoned arrows shot in your direction, you must be doing something right.

Maybe it's just return fire. :)

She's certainly not afraid to insult, dismiss, disrespect, and distort the positions of anyone that doesn't obey her 'thing,' is she?

Finally someone who says what we need to hear, and not what we want to hear.

Reading the amount of poisoned arrows shot in your direction, you must be doing something right.

Fight the good fight, Kathy!

You are right Kathy, about people only want to savor short-lived lukewarm sensations of holiness over experiencing the real thing. Experiencing the real thing requires alot more effort and change on an individual level than most will put forth.

As for this, just offhand:

"Americans will not take many jobs at their current pay levels--and those pay levels will not rise so long as poverty-stricken immigrants are willing to take those jobs."

This means getting punitive will help *how?* :)

What do you propose we do, send them all back over the border, so the poor, helpless corporations will be 'forced' in this vicious cycle to open factories across the border where they can underpay the same people with no benefits *there?*

Oh, wait, they're already doing that.

Maybe they could build that wall from the other side, and save a few bucks that way.

Or...

Maybe they want like a *citizen* servant class...

Or maybe it's just denying their responsibilities.

I just wonder how many near misses there are. "Look! It's the Virgin Mary! ...Oh, wait, it's just Anne Boleyn."

I'm not saying that Jesus or Mary DON'T appear in breakfasts...I just can't help but wonder WHY? If they wanted to prove their power, they need to move on to something more mystical. (Incidentally, I've seen a picture of light reflected on office windows, which form a gigantic, score-storied Marian image. I would understand her appearing as that---light is Godly. A bagel, not so much.)

God bless!
