Norm, Let's be fair, every religion, minority, or nation carries with it a little dirt. From Christainity during the inquisition in Spain, Judaism during the maasacres in the village of sabra in Israel and Now Islam is uner the microscope currently in Iraq and in the US. But are these incidents really the fault of religious ideology or the nationalism that is hidden underneath? I contend the latter. Think about it. In each of the historical tradegies, the motivating circumstances behind them was either nationalism or prejudice.
So Norm, before you glorify your own fsith and cut down Islam, remember that Nobodt is squeaky clean. Isuggext you look at world history, if you believe these statements are unbeleivable.

norm, you are really a piece of work. You want to discount 1300 years of Islam in Iran- if it weren't for those darn Arabs bringing Islam to Persia, them folks would be allies of the European zionists who usurped the land of Biladul Sham.
Yeah right- ignore 1300 years. for Muslims but count every one of 2000+ years since the Jews had made the Holy land their actual home. If it weren't for Columbus, the indians would be controlling the western hemisphere, and sending rockets to the moon, and and and...
The Persian empire was oppressive and treated the people like serfs. They were liberated by the Muslims and nearly all, except the rich elite, were happy to embrace Islam.

As for your comments about Iran. Jews and Iranians were close friends nearly a millenia before Islam appeared amoung the Arabs.

It was only with the Arab Islamic conquest of Iran that relations are now strained. If Iran was not under the yoke of Islam today and free to practice their own religions Israel and Iran would be close allies...

And from what I hear, the Jews in Iran are not having an easy time there as most UN reports on human rights and religious freedom will tell you.

"white Jews are accepted into Israel without question but non-white Jews face discrimination."

Interesting...as a 'non-white'(and non-black) Jew I have had never experienced racism from a Jew of any colour. Perhaps you are mistaking religious discrimination from more observant and self-righteous people against people they see as 'less Jewish' in observation.

And need we look at the discrimination non-Arabs face in many Arab states - even towards fellow muslims....you forget I work in the gulf and see it every day.

To quote Jesus "Don't point out the slpinter in your brother's eye until you have removed the plank of wood from your own"

" The other Jewish tribes that remained loyal were left alone and un-molested"

Tell me Kamila, if these tribes were left alone and un-molested where are these Jews in Saudi Arabia today?...

As far as for the Prophet Mohammed, the pagan, Jewish and Muslim tribes entered into a agreement called the Constitution of Medina. It meant that if the Medinan community was attacked, they would come together to defend themselves. The Meccans joined with a group of the Jewish tribes to betray Muhammed and the Medinan community. After the Meccans provoked a bloody battle and lost, they left their Jewish allies behind to be judged by the Medinans. A wounded, non-Muslim fighter chose that they should be punished for treason. They were killed not because they were Jewish but because they broke the terms of the Constitution of Medina. They betrayed their community. The other Jewish tribes that remained loyal were left alone and un-molested. Jewish and Muslim scholars are guilty of using that event as proof that neither Jews or Muslims could be trusted. They are both wrong.

Before the creation of Israel, Jews and Muslims got along fine in Iraq and Jews held a special status in Arab communities but after 1948, the lines were drawn and now appears two religions are at war over an ethnic struggle between two similiar peoples. Saddam Hussein has hateful towards Jews, Shi'ites and Iranians. He was an equal-opportunity oppressor.

Iran has the largest Jewish community in the Muslim world and their religion is recognized by the Islamic republic. They even have a Jewish representative in parliament. They are allowed to have religious schools. Iran hates Israeli policies but there is no hatred towards Judaism. I know some people have a hard time seperating the two.

Now, Ethiopian Jews have suffered and many have been rescued but now the Israeli government is accusing them of only coming to Israel so that they can exscape the poverty and famine instead of the right to practice their religion freely. And this right is only given to devout Jews, not to ethnic Jews who convert to other religions. Of course, white Jews are accepted into Israel without question but non-white Jews face discrimination. Of course, this behavoir goes against all Jewish doctrine so where does this come from?

Nationalism is a secular concept which replaces religious devotion with devotion to the state. Slavery has existed in every society in one form or another. Even in atheist societies there is someone on the bottom and someone on the top. Imperialism is driven by money and power and racism is totally against the values of most religions.
