Do scientologists drink alcohol? Is Alcohol considered a drug?
After doing the purif. would you no longer drink any alcohol?

Hello charnerz,
Good question. Believe it or not, there is no strict concept of this one way or the other that I know of. Definitely a lot of Scientologists I know do drink alcohol with a meal or at a social event. Getting drunk would probably be considered bad to most, because Scientologists tend to value mental clarity and avoid things which make them less conscious or aware. Like most things in Scientology though, there isn't a real "belief" or moral code relating to this, but rather an individual Scientologist would be expected to act ethically and with consideration towards to potential positive and negative outcomes.
In terms of the Purif, I believe that there is a technical guideline as to what would constitute enough alcohol use to warrant doing or redoing the program, but I don't know what it is myself. Alcohol is definitely considered a drug if used excessively to produce mind-altering effects. Similarly, all people are exposed to toxic substances, pollutants, etc. which the Purif also addresses. However, ordinary exposure after the Purif is unavoidable. A drastic exposure to radiation or extremely harmful toxins, potent drug use, etc. would be the factors which might necessitate redoing the Purif program.
Ordinary exposure, moderate alcohol with meals, etc. are not serious concerns as regards the Purif, from my experience.
