HAPPY FEAST DAY OF SAINT MARY MAGDALENE !
"The Apostle to the Apostles"
Today is a great day. On this day, let us pray for the ministry of all women involved within the Body of Christ and pray that greater involvement might be granted as time progresses to others.
The follwing site contains info on Saint Mary Magdalene and images of her as well:

======================================================
When Mary Magdalen came to the tomb and did not find the Lord's body, she thought it had been taken away and so informed the disciples. After they came and saw the tomb, they too believed what Mary had told them. The text then says: "The disciples went back home," and it adds: "but Mary wept and remained standing outside the tomb."
We should reflect on Mary's attitude and the great love she felt for Christ; for though the disciples had left the tomb, she remained. She was still seeking the one she had not found, and while she sought she wept; burning with the fire of love, she longed for him who she thought had been taken away. And so it happened that the woman who stayed behind to seek Christ was the only one to see him. For perseverance is essential to any good deed, as the voice of truth tell us: "Whoever perseveres to the end will be saved."
-from a homily by Saint Gregory the Great

Thanks for the reminder, Lion. I love Mary, and find such inspiration in her fortitude and devotion. When I was being ordained one of the choices for an ordination date was her feast day. For a variety of reasons that didn't work out (went with the Navitiy of John the Baptist, wonderful lessons), but I have always been grateful that I had the opportunity to consider having a special day in my life coincide with honoring hers.

Yes, thanks Lion - I have often thought that one of the most poignant moments in the NT is when Mary sees the risen Christ, but is not yet allowed to touch Him.

I think Mary (and any woman who met Jesus that wasn't related to him) probably fell under the sway of his charisma and fell in love with him instantly. Besides the fact he was nicer to women than anyone else, he was afte all God.
Thats probably why they crucified him - they were tired of all thier women running away from home to chase after him ;P
Seriously though, I think there may have been some Eros mixed in with Marys' feelings - which I think might also have been returned (if not acted on) from the Human Jesus.
Personally, I think that would be cool. Jesus would immediately seem more human to me if I knew he had "loved" someone the way we humans do. In the Church everyone talks about love but it's not a love I understand. It's impersonal and vague. Romantic love - now that I understand.
