Many coincidences have been pointed out relating to the tragic explosion of the space shuttle Columbia on Saturday, February 1:- An Israeli astronaut was aboard the flight.
- This particular Israeli, a pilot in the Israeli Air Force, was famous for blowing up a nuclear plant in Iraq during Persian Gulf war.
- The shuttle blew up over the state of Texas, the home of President Bush.
- The shuttle blew up over a Texas town named "Palestine."
- Vice President Cheney was in Texas this weekend.
- One of the shuttle astronauts who was killed had a cousin who died in the World Trade Center on September 11.
Do you think synchronicity was at work?
If so, what is the meaning?

No, I don't, and I think it's silly to suggest this without more evidence. Until we know for sure what caused the accident, we should not expect sabotage, because security at NASA is rather tight. And if this is supposed to be divine intervention, it seems like God has the ability to make His point to more than just conspiracy theorists.
The shuttle was maving at over 12,000 miles per hour when it burned, so it is hardly reasonable to say that it was "over" this or that town. It is hardly coincidental that NASA takes on astronauts who have flight experience. And with seven unrelated astronauts on board, having (let's say) twenty family members apiece who are cousins are closer, there is something like a 1 in 650 chance that one of those relatives would have been killed in 9/11.
But the fact that the astronauts were based on the east coast, were educated, had government jobs, etc. makes it *much* more likely that those relatives would have been working in the twin towers.
So, yes, its coincidental. So what?

I don't think there's anything remarkable about the Texas connection. It is a large state, and a Republican stronghold. Texas is a huge landmass in the southern part of the United States, where the Columbia was supposed to land. Ethan Mitchell makes a good point about September 11.
I think it is heartbreaking that the Iraqis are calling it "God's retribution."
