Ynet is reporting that researchers will hold a press conference on Monday claiming that they have discovered the burial cave of Jesus, Mary and other members of Jesus' family.
From the article:
The coffins which, according to the filmmakers held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth, his mother Mary and Mary Magdalene will be displayed for the first time on Monday in New York.
The story starts in 1980 in Jerusalem’s Talpiyot neighborhood, with the discovery of a 2,000 year old cave containing ten coffins. Six of the ten coffins were carved with inscriptions reading the names: Jesua son of Joseph, Mary, Mary, Matthew, Jofa (Joseph, identified as Jesus’ brother), Judah son of Jesua (Jesus’ son - the filmmakers claim).
Will Catholics find this finding interesting? Dangerous? Pure bunk? I assume the conclusions of the archeologists-- no matter how compelling-- will in the end still be conjecture.

When I was a kid I had a comic book collection of originals like Spiderman, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, etc. Those I didn't have I was obsessed with acquiring. So I took the fan collectibles that had four or five reprints of the originals, carefully unstapled the book and separated the comics one from the other. Then I placed each of them in a photocopied cover of the original and bound them to look like the original version. All my friends thought I had the original and were amazed that I had whole collections from #1 to the latest release.
What's my point?
These Indiana Jones Tomb Finders are looking for tombs not discovering them. When a person looks for something in particular they usually bend the evidence to fit their obsessions.
