Hello Slavi,
I sent you an email regarding this but thought it might be a good topic for the board as well. I was reading the Pre-Christian Eastern Slavic Reflections on Nature article on the Slavianstvo site when I ran across a paragraph about the female diety Mokosh. It reminded me of a dream I had a few nights ago and I have been trying to make sense of it since.*chills* I dreamed I was down in this basement where an earth quake had recently caused a gaping crack in the floor. I looked over into the corner and noticed several beds with people lying on them. As I walked by, one in particular rose up a little and acknowledged me by lifting her arms in my direction. I noticed her head was larger than normal and her arms were unusually long. According to the article Mokosh had a large head and long arms. Does anyone have any insight into the interpretation of the dream? Could I have witnessed the awakening of an old tribe of gods?
In Frith,

Preyam Sylky! Nice to see you here!
Well, dream interpretation is not my strongest skill but, I would say that with the resurgence of the worship of the old Gods they are definitely reawakening and regaining their former powers.
Strangely enough, a "message" from Mother Mokosh (Mati Syra Zemlya) was what started me on my journey back to the religion of my ancestors.
I had been going through a very dark period in my life. I had felt as though all of my hopes and dreams were out of reach. I was incredibly depressed and went through my days like a zombie. One morning I was sitting at my kitchen table drinking tea and I heard a voice whisper "Mokosh". A while later while doing Yoga I had a very clear vision of my maternal Grandmother who passed away in 1989. I immediately began reading everything I could about Mokosh. Much to my surprise the information I read said that Mokosh was often seen as a white-haired old woman. I interpreted the morning's messages as Mokosh taking the form of my own Grandmother to call me back to the ways of my ancestors.
The various Slavic cultures do have differing beliefs about the Gods and do invision them differently. I myself had not come across the description of Mokosh as having a large head and longer than normal arms until I read that at the Slavie.ru site. It might also be interesting to find out if any other cultures describe any of their Gods in that way.

Hi Slavi! :-)
Thanks for the explanation. I remembered something else that may be important regarding the dream. When I walked outside the house I noticed water...water everywhere...Symbolic?
