Mahony the liar

Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles is a big fat liar. In case you didn't already know. He told the some L.A. parishioners that a video confiscated from a suspected pederast priest contained images of boys fully clothed, and that this was the "fullest possible disclosure." But according to papers uncovered by the L.A. Times, Mahony six months earlier told the Vatican that the videotape featured naked boys in a stage of sexual arousal.

If Cardinal Mahony told me God loved me and had a wonderful plan for my life, I wouldn't have to ask someone else before I believed it. If Cardinal Mahony told me the earth was round, I would wonder if my elementary-school science teacher had made the fullest possible disclosure of the facts surrounding the shape of the planet.
