There are many tools that are useful in learning and practicing the Universal Law of Attraction. One of my favorite tools is a Gratitude and Affirmations Journal.  It is a great way to really focus on those things that bring joy into your life.

Writing can be very therapeutic and help to organize and examine your thoughts.

Sometimes it is simply amazing what happens when you begin to record your thoughts on paper.

Although you can certainly journal on your computer or tablet, I recommend you try it the old-fashioned way. There is something special about the connection of putting pen to paper and writing freely away from distractions --namely distractions of the electronic variety.

To begin a gratitude or affirmation journal, invest in a journal that feels right for you. Maybe its leather or maybe it is made from natural fiber. It doesn’t really matter as long as if feels right to you.  Buy a special pen that feels good in your hand.  Buy a journal and pen that is beautiful or that fits your personality.

Make it personal.  If you already have a dream you want to manifest, find materials that fit into what you want to manifest.

The next step is to claim your journal as your own.  Write your name in it –maybe even record what you want to manifest. Decorate it if you feel like it.  Finally, find a quiet place where you can be alone with your thoughts away from all distractions. Find a place of calm and beauty.

Perhaps the first entry is gratitude for your special writing place. Perhaps for its beauty or for the journal you now possess. Maybe you’re just happy with your ability to decorate and make it beautiful.  Once you find one thing to be grateful for and begin to write, you may be surprised at how easy it is to find more things in your life you are grateful for.

Use your gratitude journal not only for writing, but also for reflection. Read what you wrote from the day before and become aware of what you were thinking. Re-read your words for any signs of negativity that might have crept in. How easy is it to begin on a positive note and suddenly slip into darker, negative thoughts?

Your journal is both inspiration, and an honest barometer of your thoughts and feelings.  It helps develop a higher level of awareness about yourself and here you can record your goals for life.

Sometimes it is useful to set up a separate section for affirmations.  In this section, you can write down affirmations you hear, affirmations you read, or your own affirmations. On days when you find it difficult to find something new and positive to affirm, pick up your journal and select an affirmation. Use it as a mantra until you feel it and believe it.

Exercise your right to write and let your thoughts flow freely.  It is time well-spent to keep you in alignment and help you be your highest self.
