The one I love is on my mind.
I carry You with me every day,
like a shawl that covers me,
or a stone in my pocket
that I constantly reach for
to make sure it's still there.

But I worry so much about our future.
It's unknown, like everyone's.
It's riddled with questions.
I know pockets can rip,
stones can fall through,
and uncertainty wear us down
leaving only a frayed cloth after time.
