Daily Inspiration: Company You Keep

They say; you are judged by the company you keep. Melissa takes it one step further. She knows; she’s influenced by the company she keeps, and she wants to change it.

The other day, Melissa was feeling good. As soon as she opened her email, her mood did a 180. There was too much negativity in a mean-spirited email exchange among a group of her friends. That day she did the unthinkable. Melissa selected four friends and one sister-in-law who would no longer be among the “company she keeps.”

If you can’t change the people around you, change the people you are around. You need to get rid of drama mamas, Debbie downers and those people in your life who suck the good karma right out of you. When you raise your standards to include high positive energy people, you gain self-respect, peace of mind, and a sense of joy that is positively— contagious!

For Melissa, her spring-friend cleaning turned out to be much easier than she imagined. She announced to her gang that she was done with gossip and negativity. It didn’t take long for her various portals of communication to stop tweeting, ringing, and beeping. At last she was free to be who God meant for her to be.

Prayer for Positive Change

Dear God,
Bring me closer to the person
You want me to be,
open my eyes to the beauty I see.
Give me strength to focus on a new start
surrounded in love with an open heart.

Today's Spiritual Quote
Limited as we are to our steadily aging bodies, we find it fascinating that angels can take any form that suits the message. A "classic" angel, with wings and all lighted up, perhaps with pale skin and eyes of blue flame, seems to be less often glimpsed than do angels in the guise of ordinary folks of all sorts--male or female, young or old, tall or short, any race, any dialect, any description. end quote
