If you're a person of faith, no doubt you've struggled to shape your beliefs around some of the more extreme bible verses. 

The literalist will argue that you should not interpret the words of the bible, but take them as they are. No searchng for intent. No consideration for the changing times. Understanding the bible comes from doing exactly what it says. Pure and simple. 

We are blessed to live in a time and place where freedom of religion is a cherished value. Go ahead - study, live, and learn!
