Short Prayers of Inspiration
Commentary: Prayer Pointers
Prayer used to go something like this: 1. Kill an unblemished animal 2. Shlep it to the Temple. 3. Burn baby burn.
Prayer doesn't mean bar-b-que anymore. You pray with words, silently or out loud, but always sharing what's in your heart. There may be times when you're not sure your prayers are being heard. Maybe you wonder if you're doing enough in your prayer life.
Colossians 4:2 is a guide for you. It's a soft command to devote yourself to prayer. Pick up a couple of prayer pointers: Pay attention and be thankful.
This simple verse says exactly what you need to hear. Pray with devotion, mindfulness and gratitude.
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."
