Anthea Butler, associate professor of religious studies and Africana studies at the University of Pennsylvania, discusses the President's upcoming second term in office as a monumental moment for black Americans. "It's a moment in which we can say, we haven't come as far as we needed to, but it's a way to say we've come very far in this nation and I think that's an important thing to uplift and add to hold up and be really happy about," Butler said.

Faith Leaders Rally to Fight Gun Violence
The U.S. Senate on Wednesday voted down several measures aimed at reducing gun violence, an outcome President Obama called "a pretty shameful day for Washington." Clergy crossing several denominations have been vocal in pushing for gun control legislation. They recently held a 24-hour vigil on the National Mall in Washington to commemorate the 3,300 lives lost to gun violence since the shooting in Newtown, Conn. in December.
