'Born In The USA' is not patriotic or inspiring. "The dark story is backed by Bruce Springsteen’s classically upbeat music, which reflects the patriotic pride of serving your country even when it means giving up everything" - hardly! Have you read the lyrics? You acknowledge that it's anti-war (specifically, the Vietnam war), but it's nothing to do with what I have just quoted. The song is about a soldier from a small town who has fought for the US in a possibly pointless war (hence use of the lyrics "sent me off to a foreign land to go and kill the yellow man"), and the way that soldiers were treated very poorly by the government once they were back home. The use of the lyric "Born In The USA", often taken to be a proud and patriotic line, is essentially a cry out to the people and the politicians that he gave up everything for the country and they have not helped him when he needed it when re-intergrating into life and society. And there's this verse...: "Down in the shadow of the penitentiary, Out by the gas fires of the refinery, I'm ten years burning down the road, Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go"

I can think of many other inspirational songs. My Country Tis of Thee America the Beautiful Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory Star Spangled Banner - Sung by Sandy Patty (is really wonderfully done) Those are songs about our country that have some awesome truths which we really are missing today. There are many others.
