Our compassion for others is the measure of our greatness. Compassion is heart-strength in action. Jesus was a man of compassion because He was a man who knew who he was, and the motive of His heart. False religions dictate acts of kindness as a means to get “good” in God’s eyes. In Christianity, we get to God and He makes us good. Our love for others, our compassionate concern for single moms and orphans, our desire to find ways to benefit mankind and to minimize human suffering, stems from the love of God that fills our hearts. The more we serve, the greater we become.
