Then, you will employ the Habit of Stillness. This Habit enables courageous action because it turns you into a learner instead of a victim or hero. On an abstract level we know that when we’re stuck in the whirl of the everyday, it is difficult to make good decisions. Yet we resist slowing down.
Find a daily ritual that works for you. It might be prayer or meditation, but it could also be listening to music or walking the dog. Start with ten minutes a day and build up to more. Experiment with the time that works best for you and make it a priority.
