While it makes a great photo, keepers of great cats caution the general public that it is dangerous and highly risky to keep jungle felines as pets. Their instincts are to stalk and kill prey ... and to fear humans. Once the latter is removed, they can be incredibly unpredictable -- one reason that sanctuaries have appeared all across the world, filled with abandoned tigers, lions, jaguars, panthers and other great cats that were darling as kittens, but deadly as adolescents and adults.
