Drew Barrymore plays a Greenpeace volunteer in the movie, The Big Miracle, where she's working to save gray whales trapped by ice in the Arctic Circle. The script was based on a true story from the 1988 international effort to rescue whales trapped in Point Barrow, Alaska.
