Cremation has become an increasingly popular means for disposing of the dead. While the cremated can most certainly be resurrected, unlike burial, cremation does not provide an object lesson for resurrection. In an age of growing biblical illiteracy, it is increasingly important to highlight physical resurrection as the centerpiece of the biblical worldview. Contrarily, cremation better symbolizes the pagan worldview of reincarnation or escape from the body. Scripture clearly favors burial over cremation, but God has no problem resurrecting the cremated.
