Scripture teaches that believers are not resurrected until the second coming of Christ. Our eternal bodies are numerically identical to the bodies we now possess. We will be raised in the same physical body in which we die, but it will be transformed. As a caterpillar could not imagine becoming a beautiful butterfly, it is impossible for us to imagine how our bodies will be transformed. In the meantime, we eagerly await the metamorphosis that will transform our natural bodies into bodies that are supernatural, sin-free, and Spirit-dominated.
