“Of what use was it to be loved and lose one’s beauty and become Real if it all ended like this? And a tear, a real tear, trickled down his little shabby velvet nose and fell to the ground.”
Death exemplifies the finality of mortality. We can’t change it or prevent it. However, for Christians, it is not the end, but the beginning. Life is not meaningless because of Christ. Scripture reminds us that, “Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.”
