I was driving on the freeway when a teenager slammed into the back of my car. My car spun around so quickly that I knew I was going to slam into the center divider. Everything was moving in fast/slow motion.

My son was 3-months-old at the time and his car seat was swinging back and forth. I was trying to control the wheel but couldn't. I prayed, “Please God, help me in Jesus’ name. Don't take my little baby. Take me if you have to take someone. Please help me control this car.” Right after my prayer, I jumped over to the car seat and covered my baby boy under my body. I held the car seat under my body. I felt this cool air sensation and the next thing I knew, I looked up and saw a lady in the middle of the freeway, waving her hands at all the traffic coming toward my car. She was trying to get them to stop while my car spun quickly in circles. I prayed harder and faster, and the car came to a standstill.

Then the lady came to see how I was doing and someone called the police and paramedics. The oncoming trucks and cars had all stood still while we just kept spinning. When I got out of the car, the seat belt had cut my neck when I jumped over the seat to shield my son. The cut was in the shape of a cross and, to this day (this happened in 1991), I have a scar of a small cross on my neck.

The policeman [who arrived on scene] said, "You shouldn't be here according to what everyone saw." It was a miracle and the lady said she knew she had to stop the traffic when she saw a car seat; she knew there was a baby. She was truly my guardian angel and so was Raphael; I believe they both stopped the car!

We did slam into the center divider, but no glass broke. My son had been sleeping and didn’t start crying until the hit. I was very grateful to the lady and we kept in touch after the accident. Thank God for both my guardian angels!
