Are Humans the Children of Angels?

I learned that we are all angels and there were 72 “over souls” who created us as their offspring in order to gain human experience. My soul does not want to return to its source and would like to keep its individuality. I've always been well-guided in my life and been blessed with a vast amount of wisdom. As I continue my spiritual path of enlightenment, I would like to know: What is the truth about guardian angels and how do I get to know mine?

I can figure out the obvious ways ( to me, prayer is my answer to everything), but I would like to seek some advice from you as well. I keep a very open mind.

The Bible teaches that God made us as human beings and he created angels as angels, so we are not angels created by 72 “over souls.”Continue your search for spiritual enlightenment, and use the Bible as the key source along with prayer. The Bible gives us no instructions on how to communicate with our guardian angels, but it is always angels that makes contact with humans. In my opinion, genuine communication with an angel is more likely to be genuine if it has been initiated by the guardian angel.

My question relates to something that happened to me a long time ago. I was at the end of my rope, but not at the end of my faith. My husband had depressed me to a point of no return, but I continued to pray to God. Things were so bad that I couldn’t look in the mirrors in our apartment, so I covered them with towels and sheets. I prayed and prayed and cried myself to sleep on a Friday night…this I will never forget. On Saturday morning, I was awakened by someone whispering in my ear, “Everything is going to be alright.” I sat up in my bed and asked, “What?” Then they (the angels) or God, I don’t know which, repeated what they said again.

Do you think it was my guardian angels saying this to me or God? I will never forget this experience because after I was awakened, I felt as if the world had been lifted from my shoulders. I removed the towels from the mirrors, and I cried out to God to thank him for all that he had done for me. I no longer felt depressed. This experience continues to live with me and it always will.

Was it an angel? Or was it God? It is often impossible to tell. You may indeed have been saved through the actions of an angel. However, since angels work for God, when you were saved it was at God’s direction. Therefore, you should focus your gratitude toward God. The Bible makes it clear that angels do not want thanks or recognition, but desire that all the glory to go to God. See Revelation 22:8-9.

Did Archangel Gabriel fall from grace? Someone recently told me that Gabriel hates humans and is jealous of us!

I have read about archangels for some time and know a little about them, but one thing I can’t find information on is Archangel Gabriel’s (temporary) fall. I have read that Gabriel was, at one time, temporarily exiled from heaven for not executing one of God’s orders exactly. He was later readmitted and restored to his original position. What order did he fail to follow that got him temporarily expelled? What were the circumstances where he couldn’t/wouldn’t follow Gods orders completely?

No, Gabriel is not in God’s bad graces. God’s holy angels are now “confirmed in holiness,” to use the theological term, and do not sin or fall from grace. For more, read: Do angels rebel against God?

The idea that Gabriel temporarily fell from grace did not come from the Bible but from Hollywood. In “The Prophecy” movie trilogy of the 1990s, Gabriel (played by Christopher Walken) is portrayed as a villain who is jealous of humans for being God's favorites and wishes to destroy them all. In the second movie, he is banished to become a human and it causes him to change his opinion of them.

After helping Danyael out in the third movie, he is granted a second chance as an angel and he ascends to heaven once again.

If Satan was the most beautiful angel, an angel of light, why is he always depicted as a horrible creature with horns? Wouldn't he be able to gather lost souls to his cause in his original form?

You are correct that it is easier for Satan to gather lost souls by masquerading as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Satan delights in having people looking for a devil with horns and a tail while he showcases temptations that look good and desirable. Perhaps it is Satan himself who is behind many of the depictions of himself as a horrible creature.
