William “Bill” McGhee is another breast cancer victim who broke down barriers. He was a stage and film actor in the ‘50s who was the first African-American to act in Dallas, Texas. He also was one of the first to join SAG. His film credits include

Curse of the Swamp Creature. He succumbed to the disease at age 76. His family continued to contribute to the world with his wife as a civil rights activist and his daughter as an actress and director.
