Day at the Park
A day at the park is a fun and free way to enjoy the outdoors. The kids can play on the swings, slides and other equipment available. Bring a ball, kite or a frisbee along for the day. If you have a family dog, let them in on the fun festivities; they'll enjoy the freedom of running around and playing in the open.
Pack a picnic basket with healthy goodies for the family to enjoy.
For younger children, give them a brown paper bag and have them collect items from the outdoors. Parents could make the activity into a nature hunt and pre-select items that they want their children to explore and find. It'll be an outdoor scavenger hunt in nature.
