Record why you’re doing this project, and why it matters. Because we get so stuck in our negative thoughts and feelings, we often forget why we’re doing a task in the first place. From rational, logical adults, we turn into tantrum-having kids who refuse to work on the monster of a task that we’ve created. That’s why it’s so important to connect to the bigger reasons you’re doing something. (Remember the earlier part about your values.) Jot down why a certain task matters, and keep that paper in a visible place. Reminding yourself of the why gives you the energy, meaning and motivation to move forward.
